                     CHAPTER-38-SG-Y-2-S-3-D-1-15 (FALL)

The summer of 1854 had passed by very quickly in the town if Winfield and there had been a few changes in town like Racer was nearly grown to adulhood and Lee adopted a puppy named Spot who was doing very well.Tanner and Tracy Ivanovitch were getting their house ready to adopt a pet of their own soon. The residents all knew it was time to start preparing for the coming winter though it might end up being a brown winter without snow after the last one had been a very hard winter and with record-breaking cold.
Eli and Ami Jankowsky were still taking care of bottle feedting Racer one day in early fall though it was the last day he'd be needing to get bottle feedings because he was almost an adult and would eat hay after that night. They decided to treasure the memories of Racer's early days and to continue to enjoy having him around throughout his entire life. They did also start to get excited about the new things to do with Racer as an adult.
There was to be some sadness at seeing Racer growing up because they were both going to miss the days of bottle feeding sometimes. That was because it also meant that Racer was that much closer to old age and even to the eventual end of his life. There was also the excitement of heading into a new stage of life and getting to do new things with your pet as they matured into adulthood. They were finally going to be able to ride Racer soon.
Eli and Ami both started practicing riding Racer after he'd aged up into adulthood early in the fall season. They were looking foreward to having years of fun and being close to Racer as they got better at riding and jumping. They also looked at the memories they expected to have from the years when they had Racer after he was gone though that would be very sad when that day eventually came. They were busy enjoying getting to know him in new ways.
Lee was spending time with Spot and getting closer to her over the next few days and it was getting to be mid fall by then. They all knew that the farmer's almanac was predicting that their region was to be getting a brown winter for 1854 after the previous winter broke records for the worst blizzards and the coldest temperatures because it had gotten so cold that mercury in the thermometers was freezing solid from the brutal cold weather.
Lee ended up having to pass by the festival grounds coming home from work in the evening and it was too late to visit the festival. She planned on visiting on a day off so she could spend a day there and not have to miss it or get cut off early. The next few days of fall went by quickly and everybody was getting ready for the coming winter.Nobody wanted unfinished additions as winter arrived even if a brown winter meant it wouldn't be a problem.
Tanner and Tracy Ivanovitch got up and decided to eat some leftover grilled cheese for breakfast without noticing they'd gone bad and were  swarming with flies. They were getting ready to adopt their pet and it was approaching mid-fall at that time. They'd called and taken a look at the pets available for adoption and found a cute little kitten they wanted to adopt. Her name was Katy and they chose her though she wouldn't arrive until later in the day.
They eventually had greeted Katy and got her into their house where they began to get to know her better. They were getting used to Katy over the next few days as mid-fall became late-fall with the leaves falling off the trees all over town.It was also getting colder at night and there was frost in the mornings at that time. That meant winter was getting closer and that the house additions should be finished before too much longer or build in the winter.
The days had passed by quickly and Lee was enjoying her puppy at that time though she was also having to start getting ready for winter including getting into winter clothing. It was a few days away from winter arriving and nobody wanted to be stuck without having prepared for the new season.Lee would have time to play with Spot and study a little after tending her garden if she kept it down to a reasonable size and didn't get carried away.
Tanner and Tracy Ivanovitch were also dealing with it being nearly the last day of fall though there was still one more day after that day was done before it would be winter. They were still tending their garden and finding time to enjoy Katy and get to know her better. They were enjoying what would be the last of the milder days of the year before it was winter and likely to be cold.Nobody wanted to be unprepared for winter and have food run short.
Lee was taking care of Spot and tending to her daily chores on the last day of fall before winter officially arrived. She'd been making sure she went to work on every work day and spent time studying on her days off.The ice cream truck was going away for the season soon and that day was the last chance for the year to buy ice creams.Lee had been adding a new bedroom to her house over the last while and it had taken a few days to get it part way done.
Lee was getting ready for bed in the evening on the last day of summer and had gotten more of the new room built before getting into bed for the night. It was time to get ready for winter since it was starting in the morning when everybody got up for a new day.The town was getting ready to start growing and they expected to see more new families arriving in the spring and over the coming year.New arrivals might come in the winter if it was a brown winter.
The entire town had been very busy for the entire fall season getting ready for the arrival of winter and they wanted to make sure they all made it through the winter. It had rained a few times during the fall season and there had been a few changes in town like the Ivanovitch family expanding their house and adopting a kitten while Lee got closer to her puppy Spot and the Jankowskys watched Racer age up into an adult.
