       CHAPTER-1:1:10 (NEW IMMIGRANTS) SUMMER-DAY10

Eli and Ami Jankowsky both got up fairly early and got ready to harvest the produce from the garden though it ended up being cold and frost caused the garden to go dormant. They ended up spending most of their time going dumpster diving when they couldn't get the produce harvested because it was dormant.
They found some great things in those dumpsters and were already planning to make good use of some of them like the shower and the toilet and the fridge they both found. They did plan on selling most of the expensive things like sculptures worth 1000$ because they couldn't afford the bills from them.
They did manage to get some produce harvested though it wasn't very much because the garden didn't thaw out until later in the day. They managed to earn 500$ from the produce because it wasn't thawed out early enough to finish harvesting from the garden before it got too late and they had to stop for the night. They got the second section of wall up on their house and wanted to get the house built before fall.
They felt that getting their house partly built was great because they could get ready for winter and not have to sleep at the community lots until spring and the snow had melted before they could get their house up and livable.
Eli and Ami both started getting themselves into their sleeping bags because it was 8PM and they were very tired and wanted to get to sleep. They were already building better lives for their future generations in Winfield,Missouri and they felt it was better than facing being married to strangers or not having any kind of home.
