    CHAPTER-1:1:15 (NEW IMMIGRANTS)-SUMMER-DAY-15

Eli and Ami Jankowsky were both up early that Monday morning on the last day of summer in 1853 and at Garden House to eat breakfast. They were both anxious to get started on harvesting the produce to be sold at the grocery store later on when they were finished working in the garden.
They both got busy working on getting the produce harvested and getting ready to sell it in the afternoon or evening when they finished with their work. The gardening was getting easier with the increase in skill as they had learned over the summer and read about it at the library when they had the chance.
It was already into the afternoon by the time they were almost done harvesting produce from the garden. They still would have to check up on their lot and work on their house to get it closer to being done because fall was coming and they wouldn't be able to continue camping out as the colder weather set in.
They got to the store and managed to sell their produce for 700$ which was enough to get the walls finished on their house and they'd still have the rest of the building to get done before their house was done. They were starting to get anxious about getting settled into their own house before winter arrived.
They had to get back to Garden House to eat dinner and start getting ready for bed since they'd be spending the night there with it being the last summer evening. It was expected to get fairly cold and they wanted to sleep indoors.
