CHAPTER-1:1:16 (NEW IMMIGRANTS) FALL-DAY-16
Eli and Ami Jankowsky were up and over to Garden House early that morning though the sun still rose fairly early and was up by 5:30 in the morning.That was to change very soon because it was now fall and summer was over.They both had to get their house ready to be slept in or they'd be camping out at Garden House until it was done.
This was what they were both worrying about when they got up that morning to find it was now fall and summer had ended the previous day.They both hoped the garden wasn't going dormant and staying like that.
They both got some harvesting done in the garden though there wasn't much to do because the plants weren't producing as much as they had in the summer.They also both did a little dumpster diving to try to find furniture to use in their house in hopes of saving money on buying it.
They were both wanting to play chess and ended up spending most of the day after gardening and dumpster diving with the chess table.Their chess fun went on for most of the afternoon and didn't end until it was almost early evening at 5PM.They still had to sell their produce at the store.
They both headed for the store and sold their produce for 500$ and got 1750$ for the money bags from the money tree.It was enough to get the roof on and add windows and doors to their new house.They'd found the lights in dumpster diving and managed to make use of the lights.
It wasn't like the situation they faced in the old country where they would either marry strangers or face having a very hard time with getting jobs or finding places to live.That could also affect kids going to school later on and leave them with uneducated kids who can't get decent jobs.
Eli and Ami were glad to finally have their house built though it still needed to have furniture in it and they would still need to get it set up to be livable.They would at least be able to camp out in the house though everything else had to happen at Garden House until their house had the furniture finally added in.
It was getting late and they would still have a few things like dinner and using washrooms to take care of at Garden House before heading for home to sleep for the night.They both wanted to have their house ready for winter and fitted out to take care of their needs.
Eli and Ami were both heading to bed in their sleeping bags in their empty and unfurnished house by 7:30 in the evening on that first night in the fall season.They both knew it was going to get colder as the season progressed and they would need the basics in their house before winter set in.
